Relative Importance of Predictors in Multilevel Modeling
The Pratt index is a useful and practical strategy for day-today researchers when ordering predictors in a multiple regression analysis. The purposes of this study are to introduce and demonstrate the use of the Pratt index to assess the relative importance of predictors for a random intercept multilevel model.
متن کاملRelative Importance in English and Persian: Thematization or Tonic Prominence?
There are two common ways to assign relative importance in spoken language: tonic prominence and thematization. The former is expressing the main points of information units in speech (Halliday, 1994), and the latter is putting an element at the beginning of a clause. This study explores how relative importance is realized in English and Persian. It also investigates how advanced Persian learne...
متن کاملDetermining the Relative Importance of Parameters Affecting Concrete Pavement Thickness
Spending costs in construction of road pavements has turned this subject into one of the significant points in transportation infrastructure of countries. Concrete slabs consider as a paving method with ability of reducing the rehabilitation needs. Therefore, to manage costs and optimize the thickness of concrete pavements, recognizing the amount of determinative factors’ influence will be requ...
متن کاملSpatial-scale effects on relative importance of physical habitat predictors of stream health.
A common theme in recent landscape studies is the comparison of riparian and watershed land use as predictors of stream health. The objective of this study was to compare the performance of reach-scale habitat and remotely assessed watershed-scale habitat as predictors of stream health over varying spatial extents. Stream health was measured with scores on a fish index of biotic integrity (IBI)...
متن کاملThe Relative Importance
This paper presents a detailed comparison of the relative importance of allowing concurrent writers versus the choice of the underlying consistency model. Our comparison is based on single-and multiple-writer versions of a lazy release consistent (LRC) protocol, and a single-writer sequentially consistent protocol, all implemented in the CVM software distributed shared memory system. We nd that...
